But St. Paul having preached the Gospel there, for two years the first time and afterwards for about a year, converted many. In St. Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians, Robinson provides a context for the Epistle, establishing a framework in which it can be read and understood. This book also includes a paraphrase of the Epistle, which is of particular value to students who are not familiar with the Greek language.

    In the Epistle to the Ephesians we have the most mature and sustained of all the statements of Christian doctrine which have come down to us from the hand of the great apostle. In almost all his other epistles Paul is now and again, and in some of them very frequently, carried away form the particular argument which he is pursuing, in order to deal with matter of local or temporary interest to. This volume provides the first English translation of two important ancient Christian commentaries on St. Paul's letter to the Ephesians. The translation is accompanied by Heine's illuminating commentary and a substantial introduction sets the works in their historical context.
